Entry requirements for Nigerian students

Master programs at ISM Distance Learning are suited for applicants who wish to receive a German postgraduate degree and have a qualification for German university admission, such as a completed Bachelor's program.

The ISM study advisors will gladly perform a free pre-check of your qualification for a Master’s program, if you send them information about the university you have been attending, the Bachelor's certificate (if you have it already), your transcript of records and a CV. Also, since this program is taught in English, a level of B2-English (upper intermediate) is expected, which can be proven via a language certificate such as IELTS, TOEFL.

    Recommended application period beforehand: you can flexibly apply at any time, we recommend several  weeks before your desired study start.

    Is a study visa for Germany required for Nigerian students?

    No, students who wish to pursue an entirely online degree from a German university do not need a German study visa because they won’t be residing in Germany. A study visa is only required if you need to be physically present in Germany for studies. Please note: studying in distance learning is also not a reason to be eligible for a student visa in Germany.
