When financing your distance learning at ISM, you have various funding options, grants and benefits at your disposal, which can make it easier for you to do your distance learning program and therefore make your path to professional success a reality.

What kind of financing is suitable for my distance learning program?

Which financing model is suitable for you depends on the one hand on your life situation and on the other hand on the various requirements that you have to meet if you want to finance your distance learning program.

We will give you an initial overview of all the options that can be used to finance distance learning programs.

Student loans

A student loan is specially tailored to the needs of students. As part of the loan, you will receive a monthly amount that you can use to finance the costs of your distance learning. This incurs interest. After successfully completing your studies, the loan goes into the repayment phase.

Today there are many ways to get a student loan. Many private banks offer this form of study financing. A low-interest alternative with special repayment conditions is a student loan from the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW).

Scholarships

You can apply for a scholarship from various foundations and use the financial donations to finance your distance learning. The sum does not have to be paid back in the end. There are very different types of scholarships.

A well-known scholarship is the nationwide Germany scholarship (Deutschlandstipendium), in which ISM also participates. Here, high-achieving students and gifted students are funded with € 300 per month. Half of this comes from the Federal budget and the other half is financed by companies, foundations or private individuals.

Part-time job as a working student

Working part-time – this is another way to finance distance learning. With the modular and flexible structure of the program, you can organise your time freely.

As you are enrolled at a state-recognised university during your distance learning at ISM, you also have the opportunity to work as a working student. The prerequisite is that you have chosen the full-time study model. Then you can work as a working student for up to 20 hours a week.

Grants

Education is very important in Germany and so the state has launched a large number of different funding programs that are intended to enable students to complete a degree for professional development.

For example, the Federal Students Assistance Act (BAföG), education vouchers or education loans can be used to finance your studies. Please contact the provider directly to find out whether you meet the requirements.

Tax breaks

The costs of distance learning programs are generally tax-deductible, so that you can use the tax breaks to finance part of your distance learning program.
